The Pip Box are a monthly subscription box that specialises in cruelty-free beauty. That’s right – everything that they put into their boxes is 100% cruelty-free, meaning that it hasn’t been tested on animals. The team behind The Pip Box are incredibly passionate about this and they do plenty of research into finding amazing cruelty-free brands to work with. They even contribute to good causes as for every box sold, The Pip Box makes a 50p donation to an animal-friendly charity to help stop cosmetic testing on animals – how awesome is that?
When you sign up to The Pip Box, you can expect a monthly box that contains five beauty products (usually a mix of full and travel sized items), and it can include skincare, makeup, haircare, bath and body etc. Many of the brands are organic and/or natural too, which is great to see!
February’s box is a very special edition as it’s their 1st Birthday box and I couldn’t wait to see what was inside:-
Johnny Concert Amplified Eyeshadow in Metal Rebel (RRP £11.99) and Johnny Concert Glamour Eyeshadow Brush (RRP £6.50)
Straight from Los Angeles comes this awesome cosmetics brand called Johnny Concert, and their products will definitely help to inject some rock and roll cool into your makeup bag! Here we have one of their popular Amplified Eyeshadows in the shade ‘Metal Rebel’, a gorgeous metallic copper that’s incredibly pigmented and feels silky soft to the touch. To accompany it, The Pip Box have also included one of their Eyeshadow Brushes as an extra bonus item this month, which makes applying it super easy.
Dr Botanicals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser (RRP £14.90)
Many of us know about the health benefits of eating kale, but did you know that it’s also a useful ingredient to have in your skincare? Packed full of Vitamins C and E to nourish and protect the skin, kale is the superstar in this vegan-friendly moisturiser from Dr Botanicals. It’s 99.9% natural and is free from harmful chemicals to help smooth and hydrate your complexion. I’ve used it twice so far and it feels so nice on my skin!
Akamuti Chocolate Marshmallow Face Mask (RRP £2.99)
Did someone say chocolate AND marshmallow?! Sadly, this face mask isn’t edible but it is a brilliant way to replenish and rejuvenate your skin. 100% natural, this is a ‘dry’ ingredients mask, so you need to mix the powder formula with a little water to create a creamy paste. It contains just Organic Raw Cacao Powder, Pink Clay, Rose, Marshmallow Root, Vanilla and Cupuacu for a completely natural facial treatment that’s perfect for all skin types, but especially suited to oily and combination skin.
Medusa’s Makeup Matte Lip Paint in Cowgirl (RRP £9.99)
Another American cosmetics brand, Medusa’s Makeup is a great cruelty-free indie brand to look out for and I’ve used several of their products in the past. This Matte Lip Paint is in the shade ‘Cowgirl’ and it’s a stunning on-trend pale nude that looks amazing with a dramatic smokey eye.
Naissance 228 Argan Virgin Certified Organic Oil (travel size, RRP £1.50)
The last beauty product is a travel size bottle of Naissance Argan Oil which is made from 100% pure cold-pressed organic Argan Oil, certified by the Soil Association. I use Argan Oil a lot as it’s a brilliant multi-purpose oil that you can use on your face, body and hair – pretty much everywhere! It has fantastic moisturising properties, plus a little goes a long way too.
JOM Fizzy Caramel Snack Pack (RRP £1.25)
As an additional sweet treat bonus for this month’s birthday box, there’s also a pack of JOM Fizzy Caramel sweets included and these are really yummy – thanks The Pip Box!
