Fellow Francophiles can inject some Parisian chic into their lives with Quejadore; a bi-monthly subscription box aimed at young independent women. The box contains a mix of lifestyle, fashion and beauty products, so it’s a really good all-rounder if you’re searching for a subscription box that offers a ‘bit of everything’.
The Quejadore boxes are shipped via courier to the UK from France and they are slightly larger than the usual beauty/lifestyle boxes from the likes of Glossybox or Birchbox. Each month, Quejadore pick a different theme and curate the contents around that, and the May/June box is all about the Red Carpet – so it’s one for all you glamourpusses!
The box itself is beautiful and always features a gorgeous illustration. This design definitely sums up the Red Carpet theme doesn’t it?
Inside the box, I found the bi-monthly Quejadore magazine which provides details about all of the products and also has some extra content in the form of recipes and craft projects. It’s a lovely read, but it is written completely in French so it gives me a great excuse to develop my language skills!
Onto the beauty products first – this box definitely contains more beauty items than the previous Quejadore that I received a few months ago, but this may be due to the Red Carpet theme. The first product that I pulled out was by the French brand Duo Beauté Nature and this is a 50ml size bottle of their Organic Grapefruit Water. Worth €35, this is a 99.4% natural and organic beauty water which is similar to a toner-meets-an-essence. Thanks to the Grapefruit in the formula, this water has antioxidant and regenerating properties, so it’s great for brightening and energising the complexion. I’ve really been enjoying using this in my skincare routine!
The next item that I picked out was a beautiful lipstick from the French cosmetics brand Elissance. The shade I received is called ‘Dashing’ and it’s a stunning bright red with a pinky undertone; very flattering on and the formula is really good too as it’s a long-lasting lipstick. Worth €13.50, this is a fantastic find and I’ll definitely be looking more into this brand the next time I’m in France.
Also from Elissance is an Eyeliner Signature Eye & Kohl in Black. This is a double-ended product and features a bold black liner on one end, and a rubber smudger tip on the other. The liner is one of those handy twist-up applicators, and the product itself is very rich and pigmented, with brilliant staying power. I’m impressed! This liner is worth €15.90 and it’s gone straight into my daily makeup bag.
The next product is the ‘culture’ item and this time it’s a book. Titled ‘Adoptez La Slow Cosmetique‘ by Julien Kaibeck, this book is all about promoting natural and organic beauty products and explaining their benefits. As you can tell by the cover, it is written in French, so I shall be seeing how good my reading skills are shortly!
The last product in the May/June Quejadore box is the ‘surprise’ item and includes a box of Polaroid-style photographs, and a striped cotton line with some mini pegs to attach them with. You can put these up in your bedroom, and develop your own mini photographs to capture holidays and memories. A lovely concept and a nice way to add some personalised decoration to any room.
