Guess – Guess Dare
This scent was released in 2014, and the top notes of pear and kumquat come through for a fruity scent that isn’t too sweet. It’s a lovely light floral scent without being overly flowery and sweet, and it would work beautifully on a warm summer day. It’s definitely a relatively youthful scent, but it’s bright and fun without being immature. Overall a very pleasant scent.
Guerlain – Shalimar Philtre de Parfum
From the floral of the Guess, this is definitely on the more sophisticated side. While the top notes are lavender, lemon, and bergamot I didn’t get too much of the first two, though the bergamot was string with a distinct powdery undertone. It was released just last year as a companion to the classic Shalimar, and while it’s definitely a woman’s perfume, the vanilla and patchouli give it a lovely warmth. Very pleasing and quite autumnal.
Ralph Lauren – Big Pony 2 Pink
This perfume was released in 2012, and it definitely feels like it’s aimed at the younger end of the market! The initial smell is very fruity indeed, very sweet, though the dry down to the tonal bean doesn’t take too long. If you can cope with the first sweet burst it is actually very pleasant, not as sweet as it initially seems. It’s a relatively simple fragrance and couple probably be layered successfully, and would work perfectly for summer.
