Every month Secret Scent Box sends three perfume sample through the mail for you to try out.
Each vial is the perfect size to last for that long, plus they’re great for travel or to pop in your handbag. Included are three scent notes cards, which are very useful for identifying features and attributes of perfumes that you enjoy.
Lanvin – Rumer 2 Rose
I actually hadn’t heard of this brand before, but having looked them up I discovered they are the oldest French fashion house still in operation! The perfume itself is very pleasant indeed. It’s quite light and sweet, floral with a citrus edge. I think it’s best suited to the younger wearer, or for women who don’t want something to obviously ‘perfume-y’, but it’s very easy to wear.
Abercrombie & Fitch – Away Tonight Woman
This is a new fragrance for 2022. I found that the mildly floral top notes disappeared quickly and it dried down to a really lovely warm vanilla and amber base. It’s sweet but not overly so, the tonka bean gives it a nice air of sophistication what would suit pretty much any age. I think the warmth means it’s slightly better for cooler weather, but it could work in the evening all year round.
Police – Potion for Her
This is an even new fragrance, only launched this year. The scent profile is definitely on the sweet side, with the berry top notes and the fruit and vanilla base. I barely detected any florals in the middle, but the warm caramel lingers beautifully. It rather reminds me of a toffee apple, as the sweetness is contrasted with a degree of tartness from the berries, which is rather a delicious combination! It’s really quite unusual, as while this combination of scent is familiar come across it in perfume. But it works very well, and I like it a lot.
