Issey Miyake – A Scent
This perfume was released in 2009. The first thing I thought of when I tried this was Green. It’s an incredibly fresh, clean scent, which reminds me of fresh grass and clean laundry. While it has floral notes, it’s not a flowery scent at all. There’s also a little citrus edge, but it’s not sharp, the aromatic elements soften it while keeping it green. This is a wonderful scent for spring and summer, especially if you don’t want to go for the typical sweet scents.
Davidoff – Cool Water Woman Jasime & Tangerine
The Cool Water line from Davidoff has been around for a long time, and this is a brand new version for 2022. The initial hit is sweet, with the peach coming through strongly rounded out with the florals. I find vanilla the strongest note that lingers, with a hint of amber mixing with the florals. It’s a fun summery perfume, definitely for those with a preference for sweeter scents.
Lalique – Le Parfum
This is a dramatic contrast to the previous scents. It’s warm and multilayered, with the top notes of bay and pink peppercorn adding a lovely spicy twist. There are some subtle florals, but it is not at all what you would call a flower perfume. The hints of tonka bean and sandalwood in the base notes mean that the initial sweetness doesn’t become sickly, instead it’s aromatic and sensual. A lovely fragrance that would work especially well in the evening, or in cooler weather.
