Secret Scent Box sends you three different scents in convenient spray vials every month. It comes right through the letterbox, and includes cards to give you an idea of the different scent notes, especially useful if your are trying to figure out your own preferences!
There are usually both new releases and classic scents, which really helps with variety.
The box fits through the letterbox,, and inside are the three vials of scent, plus a set of note cards telling you about each scent. This is especially useful as a guide to your personal preferences.
Calvin Klein – Euphoria
This scent has been around since 2005 and was enormously popular in the 2000s. The pomegranate and persimmon top notes gives it sweetness which lightens the woodiness of the base notes. I find it a rather deep, sexy scent, definitely one for evening and partying all night. While I’m not sure it’s quite right for summer, it definitely is once to be noticed! I really like this, it’s the opposite of floral and exactly to my taste.
Lanvin – Jeanne Blossom
This is a brand new fragrance for 2022. Despite the name, fruit really comes to the fore here. The floral middle notes combine beautifully with the more woody and spicy base notes, giving some terrific layers of sweet and dark. It’s light enough for summer, though more evening than daytime, and while it’s sweet and fruity, it’s avoids the candy sweetness that can limit fruity perfume to the very young woman.
Shiseido – Rising Sun
Quite new from 2019, this fragrance has an interesting origin. It has been blended according to aromachology principles to be energising. (I had to look up aromachology – apparently it means the study of the effects of aroma on behaviour.) I have to say that it’s one of the most interesting scents I’ve tried. The lemon-mineral top notes are quite sharp but then blend almost immediately and are softened by the florals especially the coconut. It all mixes together perfectly to create a scent that is extremely reminiscent of the sea, beach, and fresh air. I do think it’s absolutely a warm-weather scent, but for summer it’s wonderful.
