Perfume is a very personal thing, and it can be both difficult and expensive figuring out what kind you like. If you enjoy discovering and wearing scent, the Secret Scent Box is the terrific way to try out a huge range of different perfumes. Every month you get three 5ml bottles though the letterbox, plus guidance notes.
The box is lovely and compact so goes straight through the letterbox.
Each vial is a spray, so is the perfect size for carrying around, plus you get a card with scent notes.
This month there is a focus on scents that have a summer atmosphere.
DKNY – Be Tempted
This is actually the least summery of the three. There’s plenty of fruit in the top, and I find it has quite a distinct smell of apples, almost candied. The fruit and vanilla is there, but with a little spice undertone. This is a lovely scent but it actually makes me feel rather more autumnal.
Cacharel – Amor Amor Love Festival
This was only released in 2020, and it’s definitely got the summer feeling going on! The Coca-Cola is a surprise note in it, but it is discernible, though no one will say that’s what you smell of! It lets down very nicely into a citrussy fruitiness, and rather reminds me of drinking Coke with lots of lemon juice in it, which is actually very delicious in hot weather. An unusual scent but really fun and unusual.
Guess – 1981 Indigo
This is another summery scent, but it’s not fruity. Rather it has an aquatic feel, a great freshness that feels casual and light. I think this is a really pleasingly unusual scent, as it seems to be both simple and sophisticated, and sweet but not sugary. One which is great for daytime casual wear.
