Elizabeth Arden – Green Tea Pomegranate
The name made me think of something very sweet and fruity, but while there are definite fruit notes this was more layered and interesting than I expected. The fruitiness is present but not overpowering , and the middle notes, especially the tea, temper the sweetness with a lovely green background. It’s definitely a scent for spring or summer, fresh and young.
Choapard – Happy Magnolia Bliss
This is a brand new fragrance for 2022, and as you can imagine, florals are strong in this one! The citrus and vetiver open the flowery smell out so something more interesting, with an almost peppery undertone. It has a definite springtime feel. My one observation was that it didn’t seem to last very long, but as an everyday daytime scent it’s very pleasant.
Givenchy – Hot Couture
This is another fruity scent, but is much more on the sophisticated and elegant side. The raspberry top notes are immediate but I found the pepper and vetiver came through almost immediately, and ended with an incredibly smokiness. This is really a rather intriguing scent, it feels much more evening to me than daytime, maybe that’s the smokiness! I suspect it might be a love it or hate it type, but I actually love it, definitely a woman’s scent rather than a girl’s.
