Scent is one of those lovely treats, but it can be tricky and expensive finding out which ones you like! Secret Scent Box sends you three different fragrances every month to try out, which is a terrific way of discovering a signature scent (or scents!).
Your monthly selection comes in a little box which fits right through the letterbox.
The vials are sprays, which are convenient for application and they’re also useful for carrying in your bag or for travel.
This version is ‘for her’ so the scents lean towards the more feminine, though there’s usually at least one that could be considered unisex.
Elizbeth Arden – Red Door Aura
The original Red Door fragrance has been around since the 80s, and this version, aimed at a slightly more youthful market, debuted in 2012. It’s got the same floral notes as the original, but with an additional fruity twist, with clear top notes of raspberry. It’s sweet but not overly so, and it feels both fun and mature without being, well, older! The floral scent lasts nicely, and the base notes add a nice warmth.
Abercrombie & Fitch – Naturally Fierce
This is brand new for 2021, and I’m not sure I’ve ever smelled a fragrance of this type before! However I love it. I find the coconut comes through quite strongly, but tempered by the cactus and agave.
It feels like it could almost be unisex though it definitely has a slight lean towards the feminine. It’s sweet but not overly so, and the warmth of the sandalwood makes it feel almost comforting. A really unique scent and a wonderful find.
Estee Lauder – Modern Muse
This scent is a classic white flower scent, with the jasmine and lily notes very noticeable. It’s feminine but not sweet, and has a very elegant feel to it. While I’m not the biggest fan of overly floral scents, this projects a definite ‘grown-up’ aura, less a garden than a delicate and refined bunch of flowers.
