Here is my honest review of Stitch Fix. Over the past year, with so many clothes shops closed due to the pandemic, it’s been easy to just lounge around in an old T-shirt and your favourite sweatpants at home for months on end. But with lockdown finally lifting in the UK, why not treat yourself to some brand new clothes from Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is a clothing and personal styling service. The service employs expert stylists who aim to pick the perfect clothes which are unique to your style. I found the service very easy to use thanks to an in-depth survey which asks lots of questions about what kinds of clothes you like to wear, your clothing size, your budget and what your favourite colours/styles are in general. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and you can add additional notes direct to your personal stylist with any special requests.
Once the survey is completed, you’ll receive an email showing you the 10 items or so of clothing that the stylist has hand-picked for you and you can then choose the ones which you want to receive in your shipment. The next step is to book your delivery day online and then you can try on the clothes!
I was very happy with not only the styles of clothes that the stylist had chosen for me based on my survey answers and personal notes but also the speed in which it took to get the clothes to me. I quickly received a box of brand-new clothes to try on and some brilliant styling suggestions from Stitch Fix.
All the clothes were neatly folded up inside the box and I was very pleased to see that there wasn’t any excessive plastic packaging included.

Whistles Emily Ultimate T-Shirt (RRP £39)
For my style picks, I requested casual, summer clothing made from mainly cotton fabrics. I prefer things to be a little loose or oversized as well and this Whistles T-Shirt ticks all of those boxes! Made from 100% cotton, it’s super soft and had a slightly oversized fit (this is the size Small) and I love the classic, timeless Breton-inspired stripes. A very easy and versatile piece for my Spring/Summer wardrobe.
Brakeburn Scalloped Hem Blouse (RRP £36.99)
The second item is a beautiful Scalloped Hem Blouse from the brand Brakeburn. This is again a lovely design that’s perfect for Spring and is made from high-quality cotton. It’s easy to wear and can be styled with a pair of jeans of a smart casual look.
Brakeburn Meadow Flower Dress (RRP £44.95)
In my personal notes to the stylist, I requested a 100% cotton dress that I could wear for Spring/Summer and my stylist chose this beautiful Meadow Flower Dress from Brakeburn. I love the navy and floral print, and the fabric is so soft thanks to the 100% cotton composition. A new favourite in my wardrobe!
Mauvette Ribbed Long Sleeve Top (RRP £30)
Next up, I found a lovely Ribbed Long Sleeve Top from Mauvette in the most gorgeous shade of wine/plum and made from soft jersey fabric. The wrap-over style is again super easy to wear and it can be styled up or down depending on your mood and the occasion. This is one of those pieces that can be worn with both a skirt or a pair of trousers.
Thought Katie Drawstring Trousers (RRP £54.95)
The last item of clothing included were these Thought Katie Drawstring Trousers which have a loose and casual fit that makes them so comfortable to wear. Like many of the other pieces that my stylist chose, these are very versatile and can be dressed up or down as often as you please.
I’m absolutely thrilled with my Stitch Fix selection! Not only did the stylist completely understand my overall style and what I wanted, but the value for money here is amazing too. With Stitch Fix you pay for what you want to keep so if anything doesn’t suit you, you can send them back for free or get a size exchange. If you decide to keep everything, they also give you a huge 20% discount, so in my case, all of these high-quality clothes would have cost just under £150.
Best of all, Stitch Fix’s subscription service is entirely optional as you can choose to make it a one-time thing and just get one shipment of clothes. However, if you like what Stitch Fix has to offer, you can set up a regular schedule for yourself.
For Women and Men’s clothing, you can choose to get a package delivered every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, or every three months. There’s plenty of options to choose from, and it’s pretty easy to subscribe and unsubscribe from the periodic service.
