Threads Box – June 2019

I’m a huge fan of geeky and more unusual subscription boxes so when I came across the Threads subscription box by Zavvi, I was definitely intrigued! The Threads box contains a t-shirt and a book, comic book or graphic novel each month. I am a book worm and I love geeky/fandom t-shirts so this box seemed perfect for me!

Let’s start with the t-shirt from the June box (I think it is the June 2019 box!). I have the t-shirt in a ladies Medium which is a little big on me so I think I’d be in-between a small and medium size – for reference I’m a UK 8. The design is from the film Full Metal jacket which is a war film from the 1980’s. It’s a modern classic film that I am aware of but I haven’t watched the film so the design doesn’t mean anything to me; however I still like the overall design and colours.

For the book/comic book item in the box, it’s a DC comic! I have read a few comic books and graphic novels over the past three or so years when I first got back into reading after a break of ten or more years and I’m realising that I’m quite specific and picky when it comes to comic books. I’m not hugely familiar with the DC Universe and the volume included within the June box is the third volume so hopefully it can be read as a stand alone. I do like the art style within this comic book!
