Toppbox is a monthly box of men’s grooming supplies. It costs £19 per month plus £3.35 p+p, but the box contents will always be a considerably higher value.
I love skincare products, but for this I have enlisted my lovely husband to try out the items and give his considered opinion!
The box looks very nice, and is kept that way because it’s posted inside a nicely padded jiffy bag.
There’s some extra padding inside, keeping everything in one piece, and on top you have the menu card.
The menu includes descriptions and RRPs, all of which I check!
This Christopher Courtney London Dual Action Shower Gel & Body Scrub smells utterly delicious. We both like to use body scrub in the shower, and it’s especially useful in the winter when the cold tends to dry out the skin. It’s also not a harsh scrub so can be used on a regular basis.
My husband is intrigued by the Altr for Men Facial Moisturizer which apparently contains whiskey extract. It is also described as containing sunscreen properties, though there’s no actual SPF rating, so this is probably better for winter than summer.
The Urban Jack Face Wash is also nicely scented, and is pleasant to use. My husband has quite sensitive skin, and this is both gentle and effective.
Hand Cream is another winter essential, and Anatomicals The Cream Of British Society White Tea Hand Cream has a great moisturizing effect without feeling greasy. The packaging is also reassuringly simple, for men who don’t want their hand cream to look froufrou!
The name of this made us giggle: Bearded Basturds, The Posh Basturd Organic Beard Balm. However it’s also very nice to use, and while my husband’s beard is currently quite short, it’s very effective even on moderate facial hair.
Finally there’s a little sample of Milano Cento HIM Eau de Toilette. This is a lovely scent, and while it’s nice and herby, it’s not aggressively masculine, I’d probably wear it myself.
This month’s box is pleasingly practical. Not that previous boxes haven’t been, but this one covers all the basics – things to wash, scrub, mosturize, and make you smell good.
It’s always reassuring to know that products in Toppbox are always cruelty-free, and frequently organic. They feature smaller producers, which is great to support smaller businesses and discover new products.
For myself, despite the fact this is a box of men’s grooming products, they are usually very female-friendly! Of course my husband gets to keep the beard-related things for himself, but I do enjoy the fact that we can share skincare products.
The value is always excellent, and they are accurate with their pricing. You get a great selection of quality products for an extremely reasonable price.
