This months Weekend Box theme was Fun on the Farm and we really enjoyed the different activities. One thing we really didn’t expect to be in the box was this month’s Golden Ticket! This is added to one box completely at random and the winner gets a fantastic goodie bag.
What’s in the box?
- Make a rocking cow kit
- Bake your own Cheerio sheep
- Create a mucky pig
- Make an upcycled piggy bank
- Set of character stickers
- Activity book
The highlights
One of our absolute favourites this month was the cheerio sheep kit! It was so easy to do that my 6 year old son was able to help, and the hardest parts were waiting for the sheep to firm up in the fridge, and trying to get the sheep to stand up properly and evenly! The sheep were yummy and it was great inspiration for future baking activities. Here are ours Ewe-n and Ali-baa-baa.
Mucky pups!
The next task was to make a Muddy Pig. It was possibly a bit too ‘young’ for my six year old but it was still great fun. In fact, I suggested it to a friend the day after as a good sensory activity for her son and we also ended up giving ours to our neighbour for their daughter to squish! I love the fact this box has inspired us to try new things and think of alternative creative ideas.
Next up was the upcycled piggy bank. We haven’t been able to make this one yet as I’m holding it back for a rainy weekend activity.
I love the fact the different activities come in their own little kits which means I have store them for future play if we don’t get a chance to get through it when the box arrives. In fact, we’re planning to make the rocking cow this weekend!
