If you’re bored of picking up the same products during your supermarket shop every week, why not try something different or new with WowBoxMe? This exciting subscription box sends you a surprise box every month that’s packed full of food and drink products from well-known and newer household brands, which are readily available in most supermarkets. It also offers great value for money as the overall total price of the products that you receive will be higher than the monthly subscription cost, so it’s perfect for families and students!
WowBoxMe offer two different types of boxes; one with Alcohol and one without. They kindly sent me the former (as I love my booze!), so here’s everything that I discovered inside their January box.
Three Mills Pinot Grigio (RRP £3.99)
I love a glass of Pinot Grigio with dinner (who doesn’t?) and this bottle from Three Mills showcases a popular British brand which takes its name from the three windmills that once stood near their winery in Norfolk. Their bestselling Pinot Grigio has a lovely dry and crisp flavour, with zesty notes of Apple and hints of Honey. It goes well with a range of dishes including Spaghetti Carbonara, Fish, Salads, or simply enjoy a glass (or two) on its own. I would definitely buy this again!
Green Lady Sparkling Tea (RRP £1.89)
Described as the UK’s first ever Sparkling Tea, this Green Darjeeling Tea is infused with Carob, Nutmeg and Rose Oil, before being lightly carbonated which results in a wonderfully refreshing and uplifting adult soft drink. The flavour is well balanced as it’s neither bitter nor too sweet, and I was pleased to see that it doesn’t contain any added sugar. A lovely drink to try.
Purdey’s Edge Multivitamin Fruit Drink (RRP £1.19)
Next up, I found a healthier version of an energy drink called Edge which is made by Purdey’s. This carbonated fruit based drink contains a range of vitamins including Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and Vitamin C, to give you a natural boost without the need for any caffeine. Very fruity and tasty!
Budweiser Prohibition Brew Alcohol-Free (RRP £1)
Although I don’t drink regular beer, it’s great to see more and more brands bringing out alcohol-free versions, as I like to have a bottle or can in my fridge for any designated drivers that come over when I’m entertaining guests at the weekend. I passed this onto my sister to try and she really liked it.
Tasty Bite Thai Cashew Curry (RRP £2.98 each)
For those busy times during the week when you want a filling hot meal quickly, you can’t beat pouches like these from Tasty Bite. This is their Thai Cashew Curry which is so good – it has mixed Vegetables and Cashews in a curried Coconut Milk, Coriander and Thai Basil Sauce. Ready in just 60 seconds in the microwave, these pouches contain two servings and are vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free. They have a nice medium level of chilli heat and it tastes delicious with some wholegrain or basmati rice.
Hula Hoops Big Hoops BBQ Beef flavour (RRP £1)
Now, this is a blast from the past for me because I haven’t eaten Hula Hoops since I was at school! They taste just like I remember and this BBQ Beef flavour is also suitable for vegetarians which is great. A perfect sharing bag to enjoy with your friends!
Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley (RRP £1)
You can’t go wrong with a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk when you want something sweet can you? This sharing bar fuses together a medley of Dark Chocolate Chips with Fudge and Biscuit Pieces, all blended into the classic Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate base. So yummy and feels like such a treat!
Oreo Golden flavour (RRP £1)
The last item is a pack of Golden Oreos, and despite being a huge fan of the original Oreos, I’ve never tried these Golden ones until now. The difference is that these have a plain and slightly sweet biscuit with the same vanilla filling inside. They go well with a glass of milk or dunked into tea or a hot chocolate – mmmmm!
