WowBoxMe – September 2018

Looking for an affordable monthly subscription box that’s packed full of food and drink products from new and well-known brands? WowBoxMe is the box for you! They have two types of subscription box available; an alcoholic box which costs £9.99 and a non-alcoholic box that’s £6.99 per month (plus postage fees). The contents of both are a surprise every month, and here’s what I found inside September’s non-alcoholic box from them:-

Alpro Unsweetened Roasted Almond Milk (1 litre)

The box was heavier than usual this month thanks to a large 1 litre carton of Alpro’s popular Unsweetened Roasted Almond Milk. I buy this a lot as I don’t drink cow’s milk and I usually buy this unsweetened variety. It’s really good in porridge, on cereal and makes a delicious hot chocolate – you can use it for anything that you would use cow’s milk for!

Simply Aloe Aloe Vera Water with Pulp

Next, I found a bottle of Simply Aloe Aloe Vera Water with Pulp. I’ve had these before from WowBoxMe and they’re really nice and refreshing, plus they’re low in sugar and contain less than 45 calories per bottle. A great alternative to plain water and with the added benefits of Aloe Vera.

Juice Burst Orange & Carrot Drink

For something really fruity, this Juice Burst Orange & Carrot drink definitely hits the spot! It’s very refreshing and is sweetened with natural Stevia, so there’s no added sugar in the contents. Suitable for vegans and provides one of your five a day.

Pattersons Scottish Cream Jam Shortbread Rounds

I was looking forward to trying these as I usually love Scottish shortbread but I wasn’t overly keen on them. Each pack contains four shortbread rounds with a strawberry jam filling in the middle. They just tasted a bit bland and a little stale to me, but my housemates ate the rest without any complaints.

Doritos Collisions in Habanero Chilli & Guacamole

Now, these are amazing! Featuring two different flavours in the same bag; Habanero Chilli and Guacamole, this is a more spicy mix of flavours and I just love Doritos full stop so these were quickly devoured! Lovely and crunchy, plus great for dipping.

McVities Jaffa Cakes in Lemon & Lime

I’ve tried these before and whilst they’re OK, I definitely prefer the regular orange Jaffa Cakes to these. However, if you’re more of a lemon and lime person, I’m sure you’ll love them!

UFIT Strawberry Protein Milkshake

Next up, there’s a bottle of UFIT Strawberry Protein Milkshake which has a whopping 22g of protein in every bottle. It’s also low in fat and contains no added sugar, instead, it uses sweeteners to give it a sweeter taste which goes well with the strawberry flavour. Great to use a post-workout drink to refuel your body.

Kettle Chips in Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream

I love Kettle Chips and this Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream flavour is absolutely delicious! Crunchy and moreish, it’s hard to not finish the whole bag once you’ve opened them!

Barebells Cookies & Cream Protein Bar

Protein bars are something that I always like to throw in my bag, especially if I’ve skipped breakfast or just come back from the gym. This one from Barebells has a yummy Cookies & Cream flavour and each bar contains 20g of protein. It has a really good texture to it and is something that I would happily purchase again.

Larazade Croft Apple drink

The last product in this month’s WowBoxMe is a bottle of ‘Larazade’ to promote the latest Tomb Raider movie. This is basically the same as Lucozade but in a ‘Croft Apple’ flavour. I actually prefer it to the regular Lucozade!

Our score: 9.0/ 10

A good selection of food and drink with some old and new favourites. The winners for me were the Doritos Collisions, Kettle Chips, Alpro Almond Milk, Barebells Cookies & Cream Protein Bar and the Aloe Vera Water.
