There are a couple of pet subscription boxes on the market already, but Yum.ee offer a little something different for dog owners, as they send you a small box every week that’s filled with just healthy, nutritious dog treats, rather than a larger box of mixed items every month.
The Yum.ee box has been designed to be letterbox friendly so you don’t need anyone to be at home to receive it and it doesn’t require a signature either. It has a cute bones and paw prints illustration on it, with an even cuter personalised name label for your dog – how sweet!
Opening it up, I found an information booklet which explains the Yum.ee plan, descriptions of the different types of treats they offer and a meet the team feature, as well as plenty of photographs of dogs. I loved how the leaflet was held together by two cut out paws – very cute and clearly demonstrates how much attention to detail has gone into this new startup business.
Inside the Yum.ee box were three bags of dog treats (each 50g), each with a different flavour and purpose. When you sign up to Yum.ee, you fill in a short but useful profiler about your dog which asks questions such as your dog’s name, age, breed, and if it has any conditions that affect it’s digestion, skin & coat, joints etc. This profiler allows Yum.ee to tailor each box that you receive to your dog’s needs as the treats inside offer specific health benefits that address certain conditions, which is a great idea.
All of Yum.ee’s dog treats are oven baked by hand and made here in the UK. They’ve been specially formulated to be as nutritious as possible with added vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, so you know that you’re giving your dog a healthy treat.
I received a bag of each of the following:-
Yum.ee Bone-Issimo Treats – Lamb, Beef & Chicken flavour with added yoghurt for extra calcium. These are ideal for training treats.
Yum.ee Picky Paws Treats – Lamb & Rice flavour with added prebiotics for sensitive tummies. These are also wheat-free for easier digestion.
Yum.ee Let’s Roll Treats – Salmon & Rice flavour with added Glucosamine and Chondroitin for healthy joints, skin and coat.
Here’s Chloe, a seven-year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier enjoying her Yum.ee treats! As you can see, these were quickly devoured! Out of the three bags of treats, she eagerly ate all of them which is great because she can sometimes be something of a fussy eater and has turned her nose up at other treats and pet foods in the past. However, all three of the Yum.ee flavours were eagerly enjoyed!
I also felt that the size of each treat was just right for titbits throughout the day, as well as for using for training purposes. They’re all relatively high in protein and low in fat too.
And of course Toby had to see what Chloe was getting, and he had to have some treats as well! Both Chloe and Toby gave Yum.ee a big paws up!
