April is sakura season in Japan, and YumeTwins is celebrating spring with the Cheery Blossom Fantasy box!

The menu booklet tells you all about each item inside, especially if they have any particular historical or cultural connection.

There’s also lots and lots of information about the wider Japanese culture in springtime, seasonal celebrations, anime characters, food, and of course Hanami, which is the event where everybody goes to view the beautiful cherry blossoms.

YumeTwins Original Magical Nyan Nyan Sakura Mochi Plushie Snack Bag

This is one of the most fin an elaborate YumeTwins exclusive plushies I’ve seen! There’s a soft plush zip-up bag, with a clear window, and inside are four adorable mini kitty mochi plushies! The writing on the front reads ‘ YumeTwins’ and the back is ‘Magical Nyan Nyan’. You could use the bag for anything else as well, though with the window you’d want it to be something you want to show off! The whole thing has a gorgeous sakura theme decoration, from the pink colour to the petals to the little pictures of Nyan Nyan eating snacks. It’s a really cute and clever idea.

Sanrio Sakura Kimono Notepad, Sumikko Gurashi Omamori Charm

This little notepad features Pochacco, a little white dog with black ears from the Sanrio character universe. It’s one of several designs, and each character is shown wearing traditional Japanese dress, a kimono for the girls and for the boys, like Pochacco, a Hakama. The pages inside have a sweet cherry blossom design on the lined pages, perfect for taking down telephone notes!

Omamori are traditional Japanese amulets that you can buy at Bhuddist temples and Shinto shrines. Traditionally they bestow good luck on the bearer, which make them popular to carry around as well as gifts for friends and loved ones. These have a kawaii twist, featuring the Sumikko Gurashi characters on the soft outer bag.

BT21 Photo Album, Sanrio Rainbow DIY Kaleidoscope Kit

BT21 is the massively popular kawaii offshoot of the K-Pop band BTS. This adorable mini photo album features one of the characters, each of which is designed by a different member of the band. inside there are 32 pages, which are the perfect size for instax prints, and there’s also a matching character charm attached.

Kaleidoscopes are one of those simple but fascinating toys, and this one is a kit you can build yourself. It features a cover of various Sanrio characters, together with everything you need to make the complete kaleidoscope.

This month's plushie definitely wins on the originality stakes! It really is adorable, and I love the mixture of larger and tiny plushes. I also think the little photo album is absolutely brilliant too, I have an Instax camera and it's really nice to have an album that fits those tiny prints! Tiny notepads are also always useful to have around, and the little charm is a sweet little kawaii touch and can be used as a keychain or hung on a bag. I do like this month's selection, and the plushie is certainly mega-sakura! I do wish a little bit that there were more practical and fewer more decorative items, because practical kawaii is one of my favourite things. But everything this month pleased me, and the cute factor was certainly high!
