YumeTwins’s resolution for new year is to be even more kawaii with the New Year, New Kawaii box!
Sanrio is featured this month, and there are some lovely seasonal-appropriate items inside. The menu booklet lists them all, with descriptions.
There’s also lots of cute things to read about new year in Japan, and how kawaii culture is incorporated, including furoshiki and wearing a kimono.
YumeTwins X Amuse Limited Cola Mameshiba Inu Plushie
This super cute plushie is Sasuke, an adorable shiba pup who is the best friend of the YumeTwins cat mascot Nyan Nyan. Sasuke has been dressed in a traditional kimono-style outfit, complete with YumeTwins logo pattern! This is to represent the wearing of kimono to celebrate hatsumode, which is the traditional first visit to the temple or shrine at the new year. He also has a cute sakura blossom decoration to match the fabric pattern.
Kawaii Rabbit Hot Water Bottle, Sanrio Fireworks Furoshiki Cloth
The cute fluffy water bottle is very appropriate for the new year, which is the year of the rabbit in Japan! It’s also perfect for winter, as while its quite small it’s a good size to cuddle up with on the sofa, and it’s the perfect size for stomach cramps too.
Furoshiki is a traditional wrapping cloth that’s used in Japan for wrapping, well, almost everything! You can use it for gifts, carrying your bento box, or there are various ways of folding it to create little bags. It’s endlessly reusable, which means it’s both decorative and very eco-friendly. This design shows brightly coloured neon fireworks with Sanrio characters, a really cool and different design.

There are several possible designs available this month, including cherry blossoms, Chiyogami patterns, or sweets. I’ve got these beautiful origami cranes, which I think look absolutely amazing!
