YumeTwins is a monthly box of Japanese kawaii products from Tokyo. It is part of the TokyoTreat subscription box group which also includes TokyoTreat and nomakenolife. Each box contains 5 kawaii items including plushies and lifestyle goods plus premium anime brands.
They have one-, three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions costing $35.00, $33.50, $32.00, and $31.50 per month respectively (from around £25).
Colourful and cute is the focus of this month’s YumeTwins, with the Sakura Rainbow box!
The little menu booklet shows all the items in the box, as well as telling you about them. There’s also some extra information about Japanese kawaii culture, which is ties in with one of the items.
YumeTwins Exclusive Kuromi Rainbow Cushion.
This is another fantastic item that YumeTwins has commissioned specially! Kuromi is the main rival of My Melody, and in this iteration has forgone her usual black headdress for a fantastic rainbow design. This lovely plush cushion is also surprisingly large, the size of the box itself, and is soft and cuddly. It’s a great twist on this fantastic character.
I Love You Zip Pouch.
This little bag is representative of the Japanese ‘purikura’ photo booths. These are booths where you can have pictures taken and then decorate with all kinds of cute and colourful digital stickers before printing. It’s very popular, and this bag reflects this kind of design frame. Of course you can use it as a pencil case or makeup bag, but you could also put a picture inside to give it an extra decorative border!
Rilakkuma Sakura Plush Keychain.
This little plush is another nod to spring, in the shape of cherry blossom. It shows everyone’s favourite kawaii bear presenting his friends Korilakkuma and Kiiroitor with a bunch of sakura flowers. The plush has the design on both sides, and a keychain attachment so it can be hung on a bag or keyring. Very cute and seasonal.
Sumikko Gurashi Standing Toothbrush and Cover.
Even something as simple and brushing your teeth can be cute with this adorable toothbrush! It’s got a cover with one of the characters, and there’s a little sucker on the bottom of the toothbrush handle to keep it standing upright on the sink.
Retro Kawaii Cable Band.
The design of these bands feels slightly 80s (that’s retro now!) and they are also very useful to stop cables and wires from escaping all over the place.
Pokemon Cookie Mirror.
This cute mirror has a firm rubber case, which is not only cute but is very useful for safety purposes. The design is made to look like a sugar cookie, and the texture of the rubber case makes this very realistic. There’s also a handing loop if you want to attach it to a bag, otherwise it’s a very useful accessory to pop in a bag.
