Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, and I’m always excited to see the kawaii take on spooky season.
This month we have Halloween Magic & Mischief from YumeTwins!
Halloween is quite new to Japan, but it’s definitely been embraced by modern culture. From manga and anime to Halloween versions of favourite characters, you can read in the menu booklet about how they celebrate this time of year in Japan. There’s also a guide to each of the goodies in the box.
This Sanrio Cushion comes in one of four characters – I have Kuromi, who of course is My Melody’s rival and opposite number. It’s called a cushion but it’s not the kind you sit on, rather you can use ut as a wrist rest at the computer or as a useful way to prop up your phone. It’s soft and slightly squishy so it keeps its shape as you squash it down.
Kuromi again! This time a real halloween-themed item, a Kuromi Witch Keychain Plushie. This cute small plush features a little witch hat complete with pumpkin face, a hanging loop and a little zip pouch on the back to keep small items safe. Such a fun accessory for Halloween!
This is a Kuromi X My Melody Pouch with a different design on both side, light and dark. I love the contrast in one item, and the pouch itself is perfect as a pencil case, makeup bag, or as it’s waterproof even a small sponge bag.
Finally, another nod to Halloween with this Cat Stand. With two separate compartments, this is a cute storage holder, for pens, pencils, or even your phone or remote controls. It’s decorated with little paw prints and cat faces, a cute home accessory for even as a gift for a cat lover. Kuromi pops up one more time with the Sanrio Acrylic Keychain. There are two varieties, Kuromi here and also a My Melody version. This is a cute lightweight keychain, for keys or as a decorative addition to your bag.
